Oh no! I have truly let you down by allowing nearly four years to pass before seeing this comment and grasping your unrealized pain. I can help! Get you some Ahmad Jamal Trio Cross Country Tour 1958-1961 into you pronto if you have not yet. The album may be purple but it will definitely wash out the blue.
Trying to think what I have in the way of Sth American music/bands. Can’t come up with much, I’m afraid to say. Banda Elastica from Mexico, but that’s the wrong side of the Panama Canal, isn’t it?
I see Blue + Album art, I immediately visualize Weezer’s debut

Both albums are liberally endowed with blueness, to be sure. Could be another theme emerging… favourite blue albums!

A theme I’d wholeheartedly support!

Delicious! Do like an acrostic verse.
Enjoyed the Ahmad Jamal too. He doesn’t figure in the VC collection, which is a bit odd given the preponderance of pianists.
And if Billy Cobham is responsible for an outburst of creativity, bring it on! I say.

Four years and I still have no Ahmad J in the collection. But thanks to your comment, I now have a quest. Into the purple valley…

Yes, of course. Deodato, Jobim, Gilberto. But I’m sure there’s some more prog too…
