Hey that’s brilliant Bruce! I am a big fan of Roy Harper but don’t know that album! That should be a really good era for him too, have you listened to it? I assume you have…I think he still plays out and when we were living in the UK I’d hoped to see him but didn’t, probably didn’t try hard enough. For all I know he’s dead, too. That’s how connected I am.

Yes, it is a strong album. Though I’m not by any means a Roy Harper expert. I do have his last album, though: 2013’s Man and Myth. It’s very good.

It’s the US cover for HQ, I have one of these. The Roy walking on water version was too much for the sensitive American psyche.

My favorite had to be Velvet Underground… the first sing title that came to me was Slip Sliding Away as well, an alternate would be Mellow Yellow except that might give Mr 1537 a seizure….

I’ll have to go with the cricket theme. I was aware of that great Roy Harper song from a Mojo magazine CD but never saw the album cover. Have been a big W. Ash fan since seeing them live in 1973.

Thumbs up on a ‘What Were They Thinking’ series of posts; that could be some fun. For my favorite here, I’d go with the Gordon Jenkins….I’m a sucker for the NYC skyline at night. For a banana-themed song, how about some Harry Belafonte: “The Banana Boat Song”?
