A DVD

Feel free to ask “Why?” about any of the above. I’d be curious to see whether I have answers other than ‘feeding frenzy’.

Apologies for the photo quality. Such was my haste to catch the last of the late afternoon winter sun (and confess my sins) that I snapped and posted in one smooth movement. Real smooth.

Shameless indulgence! Is that a Wire record in there?

Flaunted self-indulgence!
No Wire. If the one you were looking at is above Fred Frith, it’s a new discovery/thrill/enthusiasm of VC, Oneohtrix Point Never… electronica, ambience, space and dreams. Reckon you’d love it.

The CD mother lode! Better purchased by you, better than me. I once briefly possessed VROOOM, but only the once vice the twice. And Man, some of this might be for fans only, Man…

Not a fan of Man, man? Don’t really know whether I am either, but Welsh prog, man!
Lots of ‘heavy prog’ here, Vic. Kind of around the Atomic Rooster feel, or so I’m hoping.

I spot several of what I’ve come to know as your favorites: King Crimson, Tangerine Dream, and Yes…

True! The DVDs are funny, as I rarely watch music DVDs these days. But as you observe, J, a couple of VC stalwarts. Hawkwind are another. So much music…

That OPN disc seems a bit out of place…let me know what you think!!!

It does, doesn’t it? A couple of weeks ago I picked up ‘Rifts’ – a 3 CD collection of his first three albums plus bonuses. Coming from a love of 70s Berlin School analogue electronic music, I’ve been really enjoying it very much. So seeing two more OPNs at the right price was a no-brainer!

Hope you enjoy them – they’re a bit different than Rifts but still very good.
Once you hear Replica, go back and watch this – I think most of the tracks on it use similar samples, but nobody’s figured out the other ones yet 🙂

With the price tag covering – is the question, who will save the world FROM the Mighty Groundhogs? Or are they the answer to the question of who will save the world?!
Either way, this is my kind of bunch of petunias!

Ha! The full title is “Who will save the world? The Mighty Groundhogs!”. It’s a good-natured UK bluesy rock album that includes (and I don’t know how this translates to Nth American vernacular) “Bog Roll Blues” and a tearing version of “Amazing Grace”.

I’ll have to check out that Amazing Grace cover – I can’t think of any versions that I’ve heard so far that would be described as tearing!

AND the cover/booklet has a story-cartoon about the Groundhogs actually really saving the world. Phew!

Another argument in favour of buying the physical (rather than just digital) product!

That is a binge. Some I recognize, some I know of and others no idea. I think that’s Patrick Moraz on the one cover. You are really draining CB’s brain cells these days.

Not draining, I hope. More energising, CB!
And big VC bonus points for recognising Patrick Moraz. It was a one-off prog trio album that I’ve never seen on vinyl. Ergo, had to have.

Ergo? Worth checking out?
