   A bit of a depressing post, Bruce, but I appreciate you’re compiling these lists – once again, some pretty big names on there!

   Unfortunately, we know we will see many other great artists depart. At least, their work will stay behind. That’s the beauty of music and most other forms of art!

      I guess I do these to honour the artists who have died, Christian. I do understand that such lists are not everyone’s cup of tea, of course, and appreciate your comment.

      Thanks for spending a moment with the post, JDB. As I commented to Christian, I know some don’t enjoy these reminders of mortality, but for me it is a journey of respect, especially when the artists is represented in my groaning shelves.

      Sometimes I play works, sometimes not. Of course choosing and photographing an album is itself an act of acknowledgement. Keep well, my friend.

         Unsure of the year but it would have been at Bracknell, near Reading.

            So we were not quite at the same WOMAD. Was wondering because she played 1993 as well, joining Peter Gabriel to duet on “Don’t Give Up” – it was magic, even sitting on the bitumen of a seaside car park.
